Spring is just around the corner and new spring beauty products are available now! Today I shared my top picks for what’s new in beauty for Spring 2017 on Fox 2 News. Click here to see the video. And read on below to see more details on what I recommended today.
Good Skin. One of the coolest introductions for spring that will help you get a stunning skin is the new Clarisonic Smart Profile Uplift ($349, includes: Clarisonic Smart Profile Device, Firming Massage Head, Revitalizing Cleanse Brush Head, Turbo Massage Body Brush Head, 1 oz Refreshing Gel Facial Cleanser, USB Charger and Wall Plug; available at clarisonic.com).
More than a decade ago, Clarisonic invented the sonic cleansing category with its device that has become a beauty must-have. Now Clarisonic introduces a unique, patented, non-invasive sonic frequency that firms skin. It has Clarisonic’s smart microchip technology embedded in the smart brush heads, enabling the device to automatically operate at the optimal cleansing or firming frequency. It targets 15 signs of aging, including firmness, sagging, wrinkles, fine lines and radiance.
It works in three steps:
- Step 1: Cleanse (one minute) with the new Revitalizing Cleanse Brush Head that gently cleanses and removes makeup and dirt six times better than hands alone.
- Step 2: Firm (three minutes) with the Firming Massage Head and your favorite anti-aging creams, serums and oils. It produces 27,000 micro-firming massages in three minutes and is patented to work with Clarisonic’s firming frequency to smooth fine lines and wrinkles and boost absorption of skin care products. Testing found using this with skin care is up to twice as effective than using skin care alone. Skin felt firmer and more moisturized. Elasticity was improved. Face and neck appeared lifted and contours more defined based on 12 weeks of use.
- Step 3: Body (three minutes) with the Turbo Massage Body Brush Head that’s perfect for smoothing extra dry, dull skin on elbows, knees and feet. It’s also ideal to prep skin for self-tanner.
Clarins Spring 2017 Colour Collection
Inspired by skincare, under the color in this collection lies natural plant extracts to care for your skin. The collection includes:
4-Colour Eyeshadow Palette and Ombre Iridescente: Six shades of gray for Spring 2017 with new shades 08 Silver White and 10 Silver Grey in Clarins long-wear, easy-to-blend, creme-to-powder Ombré Iridescente shadows ($25 each) and the new 05 Smoky Palette 4 Couleurs – a smoothing, long-lasting, wet & dry shadow palette with four satin, matte and iridescent shadows ($43 at Clarins counters nationwide and on www.clarins.com).
Joli Rouge Brillant: Joli Rouge Brilliant is one of my favorite lipsticks in the whole world so I’m thrilled they have new shades in their Spring 2017 Collection. These are so creamy, silky smooth and moisturizing with mango oil and organic marsh samphire extract. The color is sheer and pearlescent with a beautiful, subtle shine. 31 Tender Nude is my favorite. For a more vivid Lip, go with the new 32 Pink Cranberry or 33 Soft Plum ($28 each).
Face Contouring Palette: Contour, sculpt and highlight your face with the new Clarins Palette Contour Visage in the Spring 2017 Collection. It comes with a great beveled brush that hugs the contours of the face making it super easy to contour the face. This palette includes a highlighter, contouring powder and blush to accentuate cheekbones. I like that the colors are matte so they look really natural — not super shimmery. The powders are long-lasting and formulated with organic almond oil and Clarins anti-pollution complex to protect skin ($42).
Aveda Spring/Summer Collection: solstice bloom The Palette
I’m loving the new Aveda Solstice Bloom Spring/Summer 2017 Collection with its mix of neutrals and subtle hints of color with lavender and olive eye shadows and a mix of subtle and bright lip colors so you can ease into color for spring and go brighter this summer with ten limited edition shades. The collection also includes a Petal Essence face powder that adds a lovely lit-from-within glow to skin. So pretty! I love that the formulas are made with plant-derived ingredients and are free of parabens, mineral oil and talc.
nourish-mint smoothing lip color: I adore the formula of these lipsticks – hydrating, plumping and smoothing, and made with moisturizing fruit butters and certified organic peppermint, ginger and vanilla! The formulas are also free of parabens, mineral oil and talc! Nudes are my favorite and I’ve been wearing this new shade the full coverage 956 Coral Sands everyday! I also love the lighter pink shiny, sheer 957 Sandstone and can see the brighter full-coverage 955 Pink Zinnia being perfect for summer ($17 each, available at Aveda spas, salons and boutiques and at aveda.com).
nourish-mint rehydrating lip glaze: This is is one of the best glosses around. It’s very comfortable without feeling sticky or heavy. It moisturizes, smooths and plumps with plant emollients. And I love the certified organic peppermint, ginger and vanilla and that the formulas are free of parabens, mineral oil and talc. The 2017 Collection includes a gorgeous cool soft pink gloss 959 Sheer Flamingo that’s perfect for spring and a bolder coral red 958 Sheer Tulip for when you want a classic bold lip ($18 each).
petal essence single eye colors and face accents: A mix of neutral shadows and subtle hints of color with lavender and olive shadows with the new Sun Pebble (cool matte mid-gray with a hint of silver), Night Silk (warm neutral gray with olive highlights), Elderberry (cool lavender-grey) and Rare Lily (cool off-white) petal essence single eye colors ($15 each). petal essence face accents in 988 Seychelles Sand is a warm, pale, shimmery pink face powder that illuminates skin with a hint of sparkle and adds a lovely lit-from-within glow to skin ($24). All the powders are made with plant-derived ingredients and are free of parabens, mineral oil and talc.
Jane Iredale Spring Color Collection
How pretty is the Jane Iredale Spring Color Collection and how perfect is it for creating a no-makeup look that looks very natural and radiant, and perfect for spring?
PurePressed® Eye Shadow Triples: New Triples shades include Soft Kiss—a matte, warm mauve, shimmery port wine and shimmery smoky brown—and Pink Quartz—a matte light pink, shimmery soft pink and shimmery, cool plum ($30 for each Triple, available at janeiredale.com). These crease-resistant, long-lasting, easily blendable formulas are gentle and safe for sensitive eyes. I love their versatility — they can be used wet or dry and as a brow filler, blush or lip stain! And I love that they’re made with pine bark extract to protect skin and calm inflammation! Such great formulations!
PureMoist Lipsticks: New shades for spring include: Lisa—a creamy rose beige—and Susan—a soft cool pink ($25 each). I adore the super moisturizing formulas made with moringa butter, avocado and sunflower oils, and fruit extracts. You get gorgeous color and skin care in one! Pomegranate and blueberry extracts make them taste really good too.
In Touch Cream Blush and Bronzer: Candid is a new warm, rosy neutral shade of In Touch Cream Blush–a moist, cream-to-powder blush in a hydrating, soothing formula that looks beautifully natural and can also be used on eyes and lips ($27). For a sunny glow, check out Peaches & Cream, the new quad bronzer with warm peachy and pink hues with shimmer ($44). Apply them altogether as a bronzer or use each color individually as eyeshadows or as a highlighter.
Mystikol eyeliners: These new water-resistant, crease-proof liners have the staying power of a liquid liner and the versatility of a powder ($24 each). They’re also really practical because they include a brush built into the cap! Pot eyeliners are awesome except when you’re out and have to track down a brush to apply, so these are a super smart solution. Each of the four shades has lots of pigment and lasts well. They also go on super smoothly. They come in Onyx, Amethyst, Dark Topaz and Smoky Quartz.
Wonder2 Perfect Selfie HD Photo Finishing Powder: Say goodbye to wrinkles and shine with the new Perfect Selfie HD Photo Finishing Powder ($22.00 at wunder2.com). This stuff really works. It’s a clear ultra-soft powder that makes skin look airbrushed and poreless. It has an “elastic-like effect” so the skin can move without the powder setting into fine lines.
